Weekend Fun

Well I wasn't going to make a new post at all this weekend, just so Nate could get his moment of fame. I hate to steal his thunder but I need to post! So if you haven't peeked at the post beneath this one, please scroll down at check it out.

A few things:

1. My mom emailed me to say Missouri is having some crappy weather, too. As in ice storms instead of snow storms. I have to admit, I'd much rather have pretty fluffy snow than death-trap ice:) She also sent pictures of her adorable, girlie tree. Why does SHE get a husband that allows such frill and I'm stuck with one who actually cares about our decor? Boo!
Do these fabric flowers look familiar? They are the aisle decor rosettes that Mom made for our wedding. She put them to good use!

And the poor Missouri trees! Yikes.

2. I went shopping today at our outdoor mall. Yes, I said "outdoor mall" and yes, it is still about 20 degrees as a high each day. I don't know what I was thinking but I was on a mission for a white elephant gift and also some wrapping paper. Mission accomplished and I even snagged a picture of the gigantic tree in the center of the mall. Can you see the tiny cars in comparison to the tree? This picture doesn't do it justice, it's awesome.3. I did one of my favorite projects today: wrapping gifts! I love everything about gift giving: the brainstorming for the perfect idea, purchasing the gift, and wrapping it in pretty paper. Here are a few shots of some mysterious gifts. I had to sacrifice our autumn wreath to get these faux flowers but it was worth it!

4. I have become addicted to Photoshop. I even bought a book on Amazon today to guide me with my new passion. And I got it for half price, too. Cannot wait until it arrives so I can become a Photoshop whiz....then maybe I won't need a $700 camera.

But until my book comes, I've been tinkering around with photos. No clue what I'm doing but it's still fun.

A. 1983 Christmas, with Mom's awesome glasses and Dad's awesome 'stache. BEFORE
and AFTER.
B. Our honeymoon sunset BEFORE
and AFTER.

C. Another honeymoon sunset BEFORE
and AFTER.
D. And my favorite series so far: my family in wedding pictures. I'm bummed because Nate's parents don't have any wedding photos from their big day, so I can't compile both sides of our family. But I have both sets of my Grandparents and my Parents photos.

My Memaw and Pepaw, or Grandma and Grandpa , in laymans terms. They are my Mom's parents and Pepaw just so happened to be our officiant for the wedding. They are awesome Grandparents, I am beyond lucky to have them in my life. BEFORE
and AFTER.
My Grandpa and Grandma, who were my Dad's parents. I never got to meet my Grandma but isn't she gorgeous? If this really is their wedding picture I'm not sure why she is wearing black, but I dig it. BEFORE
and AFTER. I'm changing all of these to black and white to make them more coherent.
My beloved Mom and Dad at their wedding, BEFORE

and AFTER. I need to learn more on making the photo less grainy.
And finally, the third generation: Yours truly BEFORE
and AFTER. Not that I needed to touch up a Browers picture but I tried to make it a little fuzzier/dreamier.

Anywho, I'll be using these four black and white images in a fun Christmas project. Stay tuned for the results!
