Just another post where I sing Andrea Weiss Photography's praises and show you lots of pictures from a photo shoot;)
When Porter was just sixteen days old, we had Andrea come to our house to do a little lifestyle/family/newborn photo session. I was counting the number of photoshoots that Andrea has done for us, beginning in 2008 when it was just Nate, Henry dog, and myself up to now with our family of five (six with Henry). I think this might have been our fourteenth session with Andrea over the years and now I have to find room on our walls for more canvases and giant prints! Love it.
Both Andrea and I wanted to start the shoot in the nursery, then I wanted a few on the master bed, Andrea suggested a few on our family room couch, and then we headed outside in our backyard and front of the house. I'm so in love with these images---they really capture the special time of a new family member adding to our existing family. It's going to be very difficult for me to choose which images to use as prints!
At first I was going to have us wear all blues and greens, but then I got this clearance Old Navy orange dress (nursing friendly because it crosses in the front) and kind of wanted to coordinate with the nursery anyway. Then I remembered mom made an orange/gray outfit for Porter and the rest came together without a lot of effort. I like bold colors, obviously. And I really do like brainstorming different outfits for our family pictures---bonus when we don't have to buy much of anything new and can use existing clothes in our closets.
Some of my favorite pictures...
Mommy and baby in his nursery that absorbed all of my nesting energy during pregnancy;)
Our three kids. Porter looks a little dazed but I still cannot get over this shot.
Unprompted kisses from siblings.
His bow tie and cardigan are an original GoGo creation inspired by Pinterest and I'm obsessed.
Porter in the first picture!!
Love.
Big sister seems to approve of the new addition.
Gah!!
Little legs and big legs.
FAVE!
Me and my boy.
Love this one. Represents the sweet baby kisses I've been stealing lately.
Our family of five. (I blurred out our last name)
In the backyard, we discovered some awesome light and used the trees to our advantage. Love all of these so much.
This old house is where we will raise our three kids, so this shot is extra special to me. Also love our flowers this time of year.
Mommy and kids.
I wanted to try this pose after seeing one similar on Pinterest. Kids are really over the photos at this point but it's still cute.
Requested a new profile picture for social media and Andrea delivered! I swear, she really knows all of the best angles to make a 2 week post partum mommy feel beautiful.
Don't be surprised if you see a few of these in a new blog design at some point!
LOVE these! Andrea did an amazing job!
ReplyDeleteLove them. So many, the ones of CC holding him in the glider and T on the floor, I melted. Also love the backdrop of the trees and the one in front of the house. All so special.
ReplyDeleteThey are so good!! Love the outside ones but the idea of having different parts of your house in the inside ones is so cool too!
ReplyDeleteThese are seriously beautiful. LOVE the one of the house with your whole fam. That one for sure needs to be printed on a canvas really big! Ooooh, I miss newborn days already :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! I've yet to find a great, local photographer that isn't crazy expensive. Hoping I can find one (and convince hubby to use) soon, since we don't have any family pictures yet :(
ReplyDeleteTruman and Porter in the nursery=LOVE. All of these are gorgeous. Can Andrea fly to California and photograph my family!? :)
ReplyDeleteLove them! Love the sibling pictures, esp the one with Truman hold Porter on his legs. The family shots outside are the best!
ReplyDeleteThese are just lovely. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteOMG these picture are amazing. Love the ones in the nursery and in front of your house. Such a beautiful family.
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful photos!! We did a lifestyle type session when our Alba was born, and I loved it. There were squishy newborn shots peppered in (like yours), but I absolutely LOVE that we were included, too. Man, you two make cute babies!
ReplyDeleteThese are so beautiful!! :)
