Want to pack in as much activity as possible before it gets cooooold!

Ellie is in the mama phase, too - big time!

Love Truman's book. I was in Henry's classroom yesterday morning and I couldn't believe how much fun it all looked, and what advanced things they do nowadays - like writing stories and making books like that in writer's workshop! Talking about a beginning, middle and end, writing words - pretty sure we weren't doing that in kindergarten! But it was a looooong time ago, so who knows. ;) I just know kindergarten seems awfully cool, and I'm glad our boys love it so much! On the subject of hair, I LOVE Celia's curls!!! Looks like apple picking was a ton of fun. We are looking forward to taking our kids to the pumpkin patch this year for the first time. Our kids are in Montessori school and they do everything by sound for a long time, so it was super fun trying to decipher Trent's writing last year in Kinder. Getting much better this year. I saved a ton of his writing because it cracks me up. I am working on convincing my hubby to do a pumpkin patch this year. I don't think we've been since before Drew was born and she's almost 3!Allenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04738835840061426517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6548039454456114385.post-9662411078421452372015-09-28T11:31:50.524-05:002015-09-28T11:31:50.524-05:00This time of year is grand! It lasted a few weeks, but felt like an eternity at the time.Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09681158437727138113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6548039454456114385.post-51499771679702865612015-09-28T06:42:00.797-05:002015-09-28T06:42:00.797-05:00Looks like apple picking was fun!
One thing that ...Looks like apple picking was fun!

One thing that works for us when dropping off my daughter at daycare (we have had to do this since about Porter's age) is to say our goodbyes (hugs/kisses) and then tell her that the daycare teacher needs a morning hug too. She runs over, now with a very important task, to hug her teacher while we are able to slip out the door. Just a thought!Non Sequitur Chicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07268138421234170972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6548039454456114385.post-79919002095867428662015-09-28T02:44:49.559-05:002015-09-28T02:44:49.559-05:00I love these kinds of posts.

They look really great on you! My unsolicited advice - keep growing your hair out until you can have a legit topknot, try that out for awhile, and if you don't love it, chop it off.

Soccer mornings! I remember this as a kid myself. So fun. No soccer for our kids, but I did just sign Isaac up for karate and Miriam up for ballet. We've officially reached the "extracurricular activities" age!

Miriam has started not napping as well. GAAAH. I have, however, instilled a mandatory rest time regardless of nap status and she has to stay quietly in her room resting or reading books for 1 hour. Some days are KILLER in the evenings ("Chad, we have a no-nap-mcgee on our hands, be warned") but other days are just fine. Isaac did not transition to no naps this soon, that kid will still take a nap if I let him!

YAY for engagements! So fun for your family.

T as a tourist is hilarious and his pictures are great! Love pumpkin/apple picking. I can't wait to do it again next year, as we've missed the last two falls!Kristalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13844262891800455616noreply@blogger.com
