I happened...Long time reader, first time commenter! I happened upon your blog when I was pregnant with our second, and I continue to be struck by the similarities in how our families have developed. My older daughter will be 4 1/2 in about a month, and my younger daughter turned two at the beginning of Nov, which means that they are 2 yrs, 3 months apart. Our third is set to arrive in a week (yikes!), so the younger two will be 2 yrs, 2 months apart. I also had a miscarriage at 9 weeks in between the first two babies, one that I was completely blindsided by, having just gone in for a routine ultrasound. Fortunately, I did not have the complications afterwards that you endured-- I can't imagine and have huge respect for your strength-- I had a hard enough time just with the m/c and resulting d&c. Also, my current pregnancy took us by surprise-- we had discussed baby #3 and were pretty sure that we wanted to go for it but were several months from starting to "try." What a wonderful surprise, although I am still in shock that we will have 3 so soon, even at the end of what has felt like the longest pregnancy on record.

Anyway, a great deal of what you have said about parenting, pregnancy, and loss has resonated with me since I've been reading, but I really appreciated what you said in this entry about feeling bad about limited patience with your children but reminding yourself that you are giving them the gift of another sibling. Such a comforting idea for me to keep in mind-- I have been feeling like a sub-par parent during this pregnancy, and I do need to remember that growing our family by one more child is a gift for them, even if the process has been difficult at times.

So, congratulations and good luck! So happy for you and your family!Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16978965738966771816noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6548039454456114385.post-29575706094584482772013-12-20T18:51:00.535-06:002013-12-20T18:51:00.535-06:00Hmm sounds like team pink all the way :) Hmm sounds like team pink all the way :) KLFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03626135504306692491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6548039454456114385.post-39161851835965362152013-12-20T08:53:37.312-06:002013-12-20T08:53:37.312-06:00Love reading this knowing how the appointment went...Love reading this knowing how the appointment went. :) WHEW!

Ohhhh, the first trimester.
