Our Home Posts

Our old 'new' home: a Chicago Bungalow built in 1925 with many stories to tell. We are the third owners of this baby in the 87 years it's been around. Approximately 1700 sq ft, 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms means it feels huge compared to our previous 900 sq ft duplex.

  3. I love, love, love your family room carpet, the blue and white chevron one. Where did you get it and have you been happy with the quality and durability so far?

  4. Jac~it's from Rugs USA and was not expensive at all. We are happy with it, yes---it's a little thinner than what we have in the kids rooms, but it is a great rug overall. Didn't need a pad under it or anything!

    It's 40% off right now.

  5. Hi Julia,

I came across your blog looking for home improvements. You and your husband did an amazing job - would it be possible for you to offer some ideas on our 1933 Colonial Tudor home? Thank you!

  6. Beautiful! We have a house of a similar age, and I love what you've done with yours! Also, as a mom of two boys, I am dying over the pink crib :)

  8. Your house is beautiful!! I noticed your grey Henley rug on your fb page and came to your blog for more pics. Is it the one from Pottery Barn and are you happy with it? I was wondering because we ordered a grey and ivory chevron rug from PB but it has a flaw and now they are out if stock and not replenishing so we are considering the grey Henley rug. Did the chevron rug show a lot of dirt or was there another reason you changed it? Thanks for any input you can give!

    1. Thanks, Alicia! That chevron rug was from Rugs USA actually, and yes the cream did get really dirty. Plus I got tired of the bold pattern with time and wanted a change;)

  9. Thanks for the feedback, Julia! I was wondering if I would tire of the pattern after a while and a bit concerned about the cream color with a one year old running around on it.
