A mindless post full of eye candy for your viewing pleasure: I present to you a new favorite subject---our bling.
It's so much fun to play around with this camera! Ring shots used to be my nemesis but now I have about 50 of these buggers:) I think I even got some 'flare' in one of these shots, right?
I need to remember to clean my ring before I do shots like this again, though. And yes, those are little speed bumps on the inside of my set. I have them so the ring doesn't spin around my finger since my knuckle is ginormous from a previous break during high school sports. Quite elegant, no?
Beautiful job, Julia! The lighting is amazing in some of those. Are they all taken in your home?
ReplyDeleteyep, all indoors but on a day with actual sun shining through the windows! Shocker! :)
ReplyDeleteFlare, indeed! What lens did you use?
ReplyDeleteI want your ring. No seriously. Give it to me. :)
ReplyDeleteThose pics are awesome! i'm stealing the idea and plan on doing this tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteJulia! Those are like real, professional photos! Good job lady!
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! I love the ones with the sun shining on your rings. I bet they would look great in black and white too!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics!! Your ring is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThose are amazing!! Great composition too!
ReplyDeletejulia, you def got some flare in there- nice job!
ReplyDeletewere you using the macro lens or the stock lens? i'm guessing a macro...
Love your photos, quick question, do you photoshop the pics before you post? They always have such great contrast. Thanks!

Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour ring is so similar to mine. I should sent it to you to photograph ;).
Those are some gorge pics! You really have a great eye.
ReplyDeleteThanks, loves! I'm glad you like them.
ReplyDeleteTo answer the questions:
I only have the kit lens and the 55-250 mm telephoto lens that I have yet to really use. So all of these images [and 99% of my others] are taken with the kit lens. I wish I had a macro lens but alas, I do not.
Yes, I always touch up my photos before posting them to flickr. Sometimes it's nothing more than a quick bump to the contrast or a little curves adjustment....but I very rarely leave one straight out of the camera. I'm picky like that:)
I just stumbled across this blog, and i am simply amazed at your photographs! They really are so beautiful...what kind of camera do you use? I might stop by more often to see what other pretty pictures you might post.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I love the 6th one down! Wait until you start collecting lenses.
ReplyDeleteWow....these shots are awesome!! My ring is almost exactly the same as yours, too....Genovese much?
