Who needs sleep?

Hello world.

IMG_8050

I hear you adults enjoy a thing called 'sleep' but if you ask me, sleep is for wussies. That's right. I tricked my parents into thinking I was settling into a nice little sleeping pattern at night, going for 3-4 hours without needing to wake up. I fooled them for a good week or two. But last night I showed them my real agenda and decided to wake up at 2 am, 4, 6, and 8. OH, and let's not forget that I like to nurse for at least 30 minutes if not a whole hour each time so really, I let my silly parents sleep for one hour increments most of the night.

Again, I repeat: sleep is for wussies. Where's the party? Let's party.

  2. Sounds like your little man is going through a growths spurt, mama. The positive is that when they come out on the other side, they'll usually sleep for longer than they were before the spurt. ;)

  3. As previous posters have mentioned, sounds like the three week growth spurt. Hoping the 3-4 hour sleep pattern returns after a couple of days.

The pictures are as usual, fantastic!!

  4. Oh man, sounds like a rough patch. I'm sure it won't last long before little man is back to sleeping in longer cycles! At least I hope so for your sanity, Julia!

  5. Like the others have mentioned growth spurt. My little one did this exact same thing and really threw me off. It went back to the 3-4hrs after a week or so. You will be amazed at how much he has grown in 1 month. Take some naps to help.

  6. Sounds familiar. :) Good luck and remember to get lots of rest in between (if possible!)

  7. Look at that handsome little man -- he looks so alert! He always looks like he's pondering something weighty and deep. I love his expressions! :)

  8. Ditto all the others-we definitely went through the same thing. I really love reading all of your posts lately (not that I didn't enjoy the ones before!). They really bring me back to Noelle's newborn days. I know it's only been 6 months, but it feels like a lifetime ago!

  9. Aww hopefully he's just going through a growth spurt. Those suck! Just to give you hope Hailey went from about 45 min feedings in the night to 15 min to none at all! There is hope. :)

  10. He'll sleep...eventually. :) And like all others, I also agree with the growth spurt.

  11. I'm sure you've researched the heck out of the topic, but it may be worth looking into "Babywise" (it's a book, I believe). I have friends that swear "Babywise" saved their lives and solved their babies' sleep, eat cycle problems.
