Sunday thoughts

1. Is everyone gearing up for the Packers game? I am! Nate [unfortunately] has to work today until 6pm. The game starts at 5:30, so I hope he doesn't fake a serious illness to leave early:) I can't wait to see hottie-bo-body Favre whip some tail. This is one of my favorite pictures of the man:I'm pretty sure that 75% of men and 85% of women in Wisconsin would cheat on their spouse with Brett. Seriously. Go Pack, Go. And try not to get frostbite out there tonight! I'm not even going to touch on the subject of weather in this post. It's just too much to handle.

2. I caved and signed up for Facebook last night. I tried with all my might to resist the urge for one more internet site, but I just couldn't do it. I know my brother and brother-in-law are both on there somewhere, and I'd like to stay in touch with those boys a little better. Well that, and it's just fun/addicting/etc. Definitely more people over there than myspace.

I am slightly overwhelmed by this new site. It's foreign to me and doesn't really make sense yet. For instance: I get emails when people accept me as a friend, and it says something about "This person added details about how they know you" or something. So I look at that detail, approve it, then have no idea where those types of details are stored.

Also, isn't it kind of weird to have your first and last names on there? With email? It's just a lot more information than myspace, but I guess I'm okay with that.

I always assumed Facebook was for college kids [I guess that dates me even more, huh?]. But I noticed I can't "network" through my college because I no longer have a valid SLU email address to verify. So in some ways, it really is for college kids, huh? Now my only network is Milwaukee, which is fine, but I think I'd have a lot more in network friends if I could join SLU's.

I'll give it some time [ahem, I already spent like three hours on there this morning] and I'll try to be patient with it. Anyone have tips? Or want to be my cyber friend?

3. I made it to the gym before work yesterday! I actually woke up at 5:30 and was running by 6:45. The shower wasn't even that grodie and it started the day off right. I'm thinking about doing this during the week, too, but we'll see. It definitely makes for an extra long day. Also....speaking of work....Nate has his orientation at my job tomorrow, Tuesday, and Wednesday. So I think we are going to carpool together and maybe I'll sneak him into the gym, too. He's going to be so cute strutting around my hospital! Totally squeezable.

4. And the grand finale: I FINISHED MY SCRAPBOOK!

All 200 pictures in just one week. Obviously I went for the "Speedy Gonzales" style instead of perfection. And it feels SO good to be done.

So some more pages:
It's a good thing Henry has his own scrapbook because he isn't taking over mine, or anything, right?

The bare dining room table is just calling my name for another project....

This means that one of my new years goals is complete! One down, two underway [church, running for the race], and two getting closer to reality [saving 15k, getting a wedding album]. The last two will happen once we rent our apartment, so we can save money. Still waiting on an official renter but it's nice to have some prospects.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

  1. I am totally with you on the Favre thing, Julia. Hot Hot Hot. It annoys my significant other as he's a huge Bears fan.

I lost a bet one night and had to open up a Facebook account. Frightening. The upside is that there are a lot of friends from home on there and it's easier to keep in touch (New Years Resolution).

  7. I am very jealous of your mad scrapbooking skills (in case I've never told you that!). Also, I have facebook! Amber Trout--it used to be just for college then high schoolers could get on too and now everyone can. I make sure to keep all my stuff private unless I approve someone as a friend--you don't want anything to come back and bite you because your boss or coworker sees something you have posted on there! There are also a million different applications and you will probably get "notifications" every day saying people want you to join, only do if you really want the application because otherwise it bogs down your page. HTH!

  8. Hey Julia,
What kind of scrapbook and marker did you use as your guestbook with StudioB? Also, did you use glue or tape? Sorry...I didn't have your email address!!! You can just write back on my blog!
